KitchenAid KEBC147VSS 24in Single Wall Oven - Stainless Steel Reviews
11 of 12 people found the following review helpful This product has a well-known design defect, April 25, 2010 By Inventor Steve (Central NC, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: KitchenAid KEBC147VSS 24in Single Wall Oven - Stainless Steel This product has a well-known design defect.
If you try to use the self-clean function, a thermal fuse blows in the oven.
Replacing this fuse requires a service call which costs around $150.
The service shops know exactly what to do because they do it so often. KitchenAid admits this problem but refuses to do anything about it. The advice is, don't use the self-clean feature!
However, they also tell you not to use conventional cleansers in the oven either.
I have placed this review on Amazon before and it has been deleted.
Do not buy this product. You have been warned.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Avoid Whirlpool and Kitchenaid ovens, June 21, 2011 This review is from: KitchenAid KEBC147VSS 24in Single Wall Oven - Stainless Steel I had a whirlpool oven that stopped working after a few years. I replaced a year and a half ago with a Kitchenaid convestion oven. The thermal fuse blew after the first cleaning. I had similar problems with the Whirlpool. YOu would think that they could fix this. I have a self cleaning oven that you can't self clean. Avoid a all costs. I'm sure that if you bought the latest product today it would have the same problem. Poor Poor products.
Extremely noisy fan, November 25, 2011 By Just Me (Davis, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: KitchenAid KEBC147VSS 24in Single Wall Oven - Stainless Steel Both the convection and the cooling fan are extremely noisy. Not what you expect when you pay this much for an oven.
