Display failure, April 13, 2008 This review is from: Thermador Masterpiece Series : ME301ES 30 Single Electric Wall Oven - Stainless Steel Thermador is known for its displays failing every 3 to 4 years. Ours has failed twice in 8 years. A friend has similar experience. $235 parts; labor can be about the same. Other than that, it works fine.

The unit has not worked well since day one.
The probe shuts off the oven, the oven shuts off Whenever the door is opened
and won't go back on till completely cooled down.
The factory said they can't help me.

I bought a Thermador 48" dual fuel range as well a Thermador stack with wall oven, warmer and microwave. I had nothing but problems with both. After two years I fought for a month with the manufacturer to replace the range which had four major failures in those first two years. Finally, after seven years gave up on the wall oven which had numerous failures. The main circuit board went once. The temperature probe had to be replaced. Every time we used self clean it tripped the thermocouple and had to be reset. I had the fan and the thermocouple replaced with neither doing any good. When it failed this last time I gave up and replaced the unit with an entirely different brand. When the wall oven was pulled the bottom of the cabinet had two burned sections on the bottom wood panel. Burned! Charcoal. It was a fire waiting to happen. And this was never running the clean cycle... Read more
